Seacoast Shoulder
Biceps Tenodesis

Colleen Heller of Portsmouth, NH 4 years after Subacromial decompression and biceps tenodesis
¡°My shoulder is doing pretty good, I wouldn¡¯t say perfect but 80 percent. I was not expecting physical therapy and the surgery itself to be as hard and painful to get through. It took me 6 months to get back to my normal daily living and 1 year for me to get back to tennis.¡±

Barbara Sousa of Dover, NH 4 years after a distal clavicle excision and biceps tenodesis
¡°I¡¯m doing very well with my left shoulder. My experience though out Dr. Noerdinger¡¯s office was wonderful. Dr. Noerdlinger knows exactly what he is doing.¡±

Calcium Deposit

Adelaide Prince of York, ME two years after evacuation of a calcium deposit in the supraspinatus tendon
¡°I have had a very successful surgery on my rotator cuff performed by Dr. Noerdlinger. He was very clear in explaining all that I would experience, all that would be involved, the necessity of physical therapy and the outcome to achieve full recovery. Feeling confident and comfortable being in his care, I am grateful for his ability to return my quality of life without any limitations¡±.

Susan Gunning of Exeter, NH after a right shoulder arthroscopy and evacuation of calcium deposits
¡°I am two months out from surgery and I have no pain. I can sleep on my shoulder, and I am so happy that I can use my arm, and I can start strengthening my arm.¡±

Cortisone

Paul Lemieux of Dover, NH treated with cortisone for right shoulder rotator cuff tendinitis
¡°I felt it right away; it has been good since. I am a little weak in the arm, but the therapist has taught me exercises, and I am working on strengthening in my arm, which is essentially pain free.¡±

Serena Brighi of Hampton, NH given a cortisone injection for advanced arthritis of the right shoulder
¡°The cortisone injection in my right shoulder gave me years of pain relief, and I cannot wait to have another injection.¡±

Paul Weiner of Ogunquit, ME says
¡°Within a day after receiving the cortisone shot, I felt much better and the pain has 99% disappeared. I can use my arm without any problem, without any pain, let¡¯s put it this way-it did wonders!¡±

Elaine Hamel from Sanford, ME states
¡°I¡¯ve worked at York Hospital for 21 years. You go to a surgeon expecting to have surgery. Dr. Noerdlinger believes surgery should be the last alternative. That was so refreshing to hear! I am very thankful that all I needed was an injection and I¡¯m feeling fine now!¡±

Distal Clavicle Excision

Christopher Dinardi of Stratham, NH says about both of his shoulders
¡°I hurt myself while weight lifting in the gym. After having surgery (on both of my AC joints) with Dr. Noerdlinger, I¡¯m back into the gym 100%.¡±

Pamela Church of Epping, NH states after bilateral distal clavicle excisions
¡°I totaled my van in a motor vehicle accident and hurt both of my shoulders. Since surgery I¡¯m back to doing my normal activities with my shoulders.¡±

Dolores Hosker of Moody, ME after distal clavicle excision
¡°My shoulder is perfect and since surgery I have only had 2 days were is has ached. Recovery was shorter and less painful than I expected, compared to a basal joint surgery, this was nothing. The only difficulty I had at work was lifting buckets and that only lasted for 3 months, and after that I was back to normal. In all I hurt for years and was fixed in 3 months after seeing Dr. Noerdlinger.¡±

Instability and Labral Repair

Johnna Dourdoufis of Stratham, NH states
¡°I was in a lot of pain prior to surgery and my shoulder dislocated frequently. Now I¡¯m able to dive, swim and do any type of activity with no pain or limitation. I think Dr. Noerdlinger did an incredibly good job, he¡¯s extremely personable, the surgery went well and I¡¯ve had no trouble since. I would recommend him highly to anyone¡±.

Ben Ellis of York, ME states after a SLAP repair
¡°I¡¯m doing awesome. Over the past year I have had a perfect recovery, including follow-ups with the office. The one part that I appreciated was the way that Dr. Noerdlinger listened to the fact that I was not progressing in physical therapy and was not interested in cortisone injections. Then during my surgery we went in with a diagnosis and then once he was in found what the MRI did not show and fixed the new finding while I was still under. Dr. Noerdlinger is the man to see.¡±

Wendy M. Lee of Dover, NH eight years after a right shoulder stabilization for recurrent instability
¡°After the surgery, my shoulder hurt like hell for months, but I worked hard with physical therapy to make sure I got all my range of motion back and now I have full range of motion, full function, and a stable shoulder. It does not bother me at all.¡±

Diane Attenborough of Newfields, NH 18 months after a SLAP repair
¡°Before my surgery I was a steady 4-5/10 in pain. I went into surgery with decreased pain due to an injection but going in due to decrease in function. Surgery and rehab was exactly what Dr. Noerdlinger said, 8-12 months. I was telling myself I could return earlier but that wasn¡¯t the case. The only post-op pain I had was one night. I was in Europe one-week after having my sutures removed and just having to wear a sling. The most pain I experienced through this was with Physical Therapy and the ROM exercises. I returned to work, modified duty, after 6 weeks, teaching pilates with restrictions after 2 weeks and full-duty at work at 16 weeks. The part I want to pass along regarding Dr. Noerdlinger is that he paid attention to detail. I had 4 small issues with my shoulder, with the copy of the Operation Report he provides to his patients, it states very clearly what he addressed. I had a colleague attend my surgery who said Dr. Noerdlinger was very focused throughout.¡±

Platelet Rich Plasma Injections

Laurel McKenna of Rye, NH. Six months after a rotator cuff repair, her tendon had healed but she required platelet rich plasma injections to eliminate her pain
¡°After surgery I wasn¡¯t happy with my ability to do normal tasks, such as blow drying my hair, even though it was much better than prior to surgery. So I did research regarding Plasma Rich Protein injections, which was very successful with professional athletes, especially with the Pittsburg Steelers. I spoke with the director of the clinic, who actually started this process and presented all the information to Dr. Noerdlinger. Dr. Noerdlinger knew about these injections and was willing to try whatever I felt was necessary to get me back to my best ability. After a series of 5 injections I¡¯m back to playing tennis for 2 hours with out any significant pain. I would definitely use the PRP series of injections again for any future injury.¡±

Rotator Cuff Repair

Kent Rosberg of Eliot, ME two and a half months after rotator cuff repair
"Thanks for the splendid skill and care. I have no pain, keep up the wonderful work."

Thelma Maling of Wells, Maine after repair of the supraspinatus tendon
¡°Dr. Noerdlinger was very attentive and interested in my condition. He repaired my shoulder and I am now recovered and I would recommend Dr. Noerdlinger highly¡±.

Lindsey Ballou Somersworth, NH
¡°I found Dr. Noerdlinger to be extremely thorough. His explanation of the expectations before, during and after surgery was very honest and that allowed me to focus on my rehabilitation without questions. I had a rotator cuff tear and now, a year after surgery, my shoulder feels better than it prior to my injury!"

Lloyd Henderson of Eliot, ME after bilateral rotator cuff repairs states
¡°Dr. Noerdlinger operated on both of my shoulders last year (2007). I¡¯m 60 years old now, and I have not felt this good since I was 45-50 years old, which was when I injured my arms. I¡¯m a carpenter, so I depend on my arms for work. I¡¯m still working and now I work like I was a kid again! I¡¯d recommend Dr. Noerdlinger to anyone.¡±

Stuart Sennett of Milton, NH after right shoulder repair of a partial articular-sided supraspinatus tear
¡°I have been very happy with my left shoulder rotator cuff repair. I would have no hesitations to come back and have my right shoulder operated on if needed.¡±

Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty

Leo Cain of Cape Neddick, ME is an 87 year young gentleman, who preoperatively had severe bilateral shoulder pain with 30 degrees of forward elevation bilaterally treated with reverse arthroplasties
¡°I have not had any problems with them; I have no pain in my shoulders, just a little restriction when I reach overhead.¡±

Florence Lytle of York, ME after revising a prior left shoulder replacement that was painful to a reverse shoulder replacement
¡°I had to have my left shoulder done twice, since I had fallen onto my shoulder re-injuring it. The recovery was as I had expected. I am able to lift my arm straight over my head with no pain. I do not lift anything excessive with that arm since I have had it repaired twice and do not want to hurt it again.¡±

Charles McKeel Jr. of Kittery, ME states
¡°Dr. Noerdlinger performed a total reverse replacement of my left shoulder and the results are great! The main thing I want to say is that he gave me my life back! I now have self-assurance that I can do things. I can lift my arm over my head, I can split wood, I can do anything I want, plus, I have no pain!¡±

Margaret Beck from North Hampton, NH writes
¡°Dr. Noerdlinger is the kind of doctor that informs you and gives you options. He let¡¯s the patient be a part of the plan. He¡¯s also a great guy. I can ask him about his family, and he tells me. He makes me feel like a person, not a number, and that¡¯s important to me. He¡¯s sincere and knows what he¡¯s doing. My operation went well because of him. I would recommend him to my family and friends¡±.

Subacromial Decompression

Carol L. Oster of Kennebunk, ME four weeks after right shoulder subacromial decompression
¡°I took the pain medication for two days after the surgery and then stopped because I had no pain in my shoulder. When I saw the physical therapist, he was surprised that I have such a good range of motion. Right now, my pain is much better than it was before surgery. In fact, I do not have pain or the discomfort at extremes of motion.¡±

Betsy Patterson of Portsmouth, NH six weeks after right shoulder subacromial decompression
¡°My shoulder is essentially pain free. I can reach behind my back and I have much more range of motion in my shoulder. The difference in pain at night when I sleep is night and day. I am very happy with my shoulder. That was a good surgery.¡±

Diane Stearns of Springvale, ME after subacromial decompression
¡°Everybody has been showing me all their scars, and I just had three little scars, and the anesthesia was better than I expected. I am very happy with my experience.¡±

Total Shoulder Arthroplasty

Louanne Thomas of Camden, ME states
¡°The treatment I received from the staff at Sports Medicine Atlantic Orthopaedics as well as from Dr. Noerdlinger was impeccable. Dr. Noerdlinger did an amazing job with the surgery and I am now well on my way to a fantastic recovery. I would highly recommend Sports Medicine Atlantic Orthopaedics for any orthopedic needs¡±.

Robert Begun of Eliot, ME says
¡°Dr. Noerdlinger performed a total shoulder replacement and I can¡¯t be happier. I¡¯m totally pain free and have 99.9% movement. He did an excellent job, and on top of that, he¡¯s a nice guy too¡±.

Frank Hutchinson of Eliot, ME
"I needed a complete shoulder replacement which Dr. Noerdlinger performed. I healed quickly and was extremely pleased with the surgery. Dr. Noerdlinger is an excellent surgeon and I highly recommend him".

Cynthia Dalzell, Dover, NH
¡°Dr. Noerdlinger is wonderful. He performed a shoulder replacement on my left shoulder and I am now pain free and have full range of motion. He did a fantastic job and I am very thankful to him."

Marguerite Carter of Wells, ME six months status post left total shoulder arthroplasty
¡°People cannot believe I had a shoulder replacement because of everything I can do with my shoulder. I have no limitations with my shoulder. I can do practically everything I could do before I had pain in my shoulder.¡±

Jean Alvord, 86 years young, of Kittery Point, ME after right total shoulder arthroplasty
¡°The surgery was wonderful. After two days, I did not have any pain. I cannot wait to have my other shoulder replaced.¡±
